Performance Evidence
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit, including evidence of the ability to:
conduct roadway maintenance on at least two occasions, including:transporting resources, including:personnelmachinerymaterialspowerwatercarrying out equipment checks on at least three of the following: pumpspumping equipmentsignsbarrierstoolscarrying out material checks, including on:ballastconcrete (readymix and quickset)saltconducting roadway maintenance, including at least three of the following:gradingcontouringdust suppressionballasting holescutting drainsperforming equipment inspections and carrying out operator maintenance.During the above, the candidate must:locate and apply required documentation, policies and procedures and confirm work activity is compliantimplement the requirements, procedures and techniques for conducting roadway maintenance, including:reading, interpreting and applying technical informationidentifying, addressing and reporting environmental issues, potential hazards and risks applying equipment and manual handling techniquesselecting and using relevant tools and equipmentinterpreting and applying mine plansoperating and maintaining the roadway maintenance equipmentidentifying, selecting and applying roadway maintenance materialsidentifying work requirementswork effectively with others to conduct roadway maintenance in a way that meets required outcomes, including:organising work activities to meet task requirementscommunicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructionscomplying with reporting requirements and procedures.
